BI Engineer

Summary

Our client is seeking two BI Engineers to join a Product & Engineering team within an Engineering Guild. The role will focus on building reporting applications that support data-driven decision-making across the business. This position will collaborate closely with Product, Data Science, and Data Engineering teams to deliver visualizations and data models using cloud-based technologies. The work will involve iterative development, user feedback, and ongoing enhancement of reporting solutions.

The selected professionals will help map current workflows, design scalable data models, and contribute to reporting tools that are maintainable and effective. This is an onsite opportunity with preferred locations in St. Louis, New York City, or Toronto.

Project Details

• Build reporting applications that support business decision-making
• Engage directly with users to understand and map current workflows and processes
• Design and develop scalable data models and dashboards
• Iterate on reports and dashboards based on telemetry and feedback
• Collaborate daily with technical and product teams to deliver enhancements
• Contribute to innovation and architecture across reporting tools and platforms

Job Experience

• 4–5 years of experience building cloud-based data models and reporting workflows
• 4–5 years of experience developing scalable BI solutions and visualizations
• Strong experience with Power BI, SQL, Snowflake, Databricks, Python, DAX, Tabular Editor, and GitHub
• Understanding of data visualization, UX design, and user psychology
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies
• Experience working in CI/CD environments
• Exposure to Power Automate, ALM Toolkit, Azure Analysis Services, or Azure DevOps is preferred
• Ability to participate in a technical assessment and team interview process
• Experience collaborating across product and engineering functions
• Ability to work onsite in one of the preferred locations
